Wingspan: 50-60mm

Imago: Univoltine, a species that has a diapause to avoid the heat of mid-summer.  Very common, comes to sugar and to light, sometimes in huge numbers.

Larva: Polyphagous, feeding on a wide variety of herbaceous plants and grasses.

Overwinter: As a larva.
