Wingspan: 38-48mm

Imago: A univoltine species which comes freely to light and is quite common here.  It inhabits woodland, orchards and bushy habitat.

Larva: Feed on a variety of trees such as oak (Quercus), lime (Tillia), sallow (Salix) and hawthorn (Crataegus)

Overwinter: As a single egg or a batch of eggs laid in crevices on the bark of trees
